Fairytale by name and fairytale by nature, Beast & Butterflies is a casual dining destination that is simply a dream come true.

Located within M Social Hotel Auckland, Beast & Butterflies is gracing Auckland’s Viaduct and offers a social hub that can be enjoyed throughout the day. Its motto is ‘Feeding the Fabulous’, and they couldn’t be more right. Indeed, their swanky interior suggests little else with its open layout, partitioned cubby holes, glass wall overlooking the bay and some of the trendiest furniture around. Armed with a really impressive lighting design that creates optical illusions at first glance, Beast and Butterflies is a beauty to behold from every perspective.

The ‘Beast’ part of the title presumably refers to our primal instincts once presented with some irresistible food. They’re keeping things regional and fresh with dishes that are influenced by the best of locally sourced, seasonal, and fresh produce ingredients. Hawke's Bay lamb enters the spotlight with harissa and cumin yoghurt, and slow-cooked lamb shoulder for two with caramelised onions.

It’s clear that they adore international cuisine too, with offerings like the salt-baked potato gnocchi, scampi linguine that utilises the freshest seafood, and a goat's cheese and chive ravioli adorned with plenty of Mediterranean magic.
