It might just be the answer to all our dreams in Papanui. It's the kind of hangout that is just as chilled as its food, holding no pretensions and making easygoing dining the absolute priority. Come as you are for some of NZ's favourite eats.

They've made a lot of classics their own, so don't waste any time and take on the pie of the day which is always served with peas, mash and gravy, no matter the season. Then there's a slow-cooked Canterbury roast lamb, Canterbury pork which also gets the slow-cooked treatment and honey chilli chicken which is about to be your new obsession.

Aside from that, they're keeping it cool with traditional beef, chicken schnitzel and vegan burgers, as well as comforting pasta dishes. And if you thought that was it, think again.
