Kathakali

Situated in the heart of New Plymouth, Kathakali is Taranaki’s first South Indian style restaurant. Specialising in dosas and ghee, Kathakali serves authentic Indian cuisine from the Kerala region with style and flair.

Kathakali has won numerous awards celebrating both its food and its service; in 2014 it won a number of the Taranaki Halamoana Awards for Hospitality and received a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. With seating capacity for up to 75 diners, Kathakali is ideal for groups.

Menu favourites include the masala dosa, chicken leaf curry and thalacherry biriyani. There’s ample options for vegetarians, including an unmissable paneer chettinadu. Try a traditional Indian dessert, or round off your meal with good old fashioned vanilla ice cream.
