A new addition to Jackson Street, The Victoria Tavern is a modern eatery with a soft spot for history.

They call a historic building home whilst inside it's surprisingly modern. Refreshing shades of cream, fresh greens and oak make for an airy and light feel that encourages one to linger and savour the moment. Stylish in a modern European kind of way, you'll find cabinets full of rafters with delights from the deli and hanging baskets breathing life into every corner of the venue.

In keeping with the feel of The Victoria Tavern, they're leaning into European plates that are optimistic and bursting with fresh ingredients. The small plates are intricate yet homey, serving up the bold flavours of grilled beef skewers, deep-fried pickles, beetroot hummus and Moroccan spiced lamb koftas.

The mains follow suit with thoughtfully constructed plates like slow-cooked beef cheek in a BBQ jus, an immense selection of steaks from the grill and a lamb feast that features lamb done three ways. We're full just reading it, but if you have space for more, you should absolutely try out their rhubarb crème brûlée that puts an exciting twist on a creamy French classic.
