Lord of the Fries

Unlike the novel which it's named after, Lord of the Fries doesn't end in the end of civilisation as we know it. It does, however, end with happy tummies and satiated tastebuds after an evening of American-style cheat food.

Perfectly situated on Cuba Street, the mouth-watering smell of fries and American fast food never fails to draw interested looks from passers-by. Inside, it's modelled on an American diner which works perfectly if you're after something really informal with friends. Grab a stool and let the moreish smells do their work as you inevitably order more than you can possibly eat in one sitting.

The big eats consist of burgers and hot dogs, both of which come in all shapes, sizes and fillings. And they're doing much more than the regular cheeseburger with fish fillets, beef patties with prawns, aloo tikki-flavoured patties and the Italian-inspired parma with bacon, cheese and Parma ham. Then there are the hot dogs which are all vegetarian and vegan, and done up a number of ways to keep you on your toes!

As for the famous fries themselves - the main inspiration and the reason LOTF is here in the first place - these potato delights have made their way from Australia's festival scene to Welly's main street. And they don't disappoint! From sweet potato to shoestring and classic fries, they're keeping things classic but perfect every damn time. They truly are the Lord of the Fries.
