Jumak

Nestled in Riccarton is a hidden gem, a cosy Korean tavern that goes by the name of Jumak, influenced by the popular taverns in Korea. Think homemade recipes with a modern twist. The main menu centres around two dishes, the spicy stir fried pork and the Bibimbap. The first of the two is packed with flavour, the pork slow-cooked for hours to create a rich, deep taste. Coated with a spicy sauce this dish contains quite the punch. The Bibimbap, a traditional favourite, contains mixed vegetable rice served in a hot stone pot. Jumak have a choice of meat to accompany this dish so whether you prefer beef, spicy pork, chicken or vegetables, you can be sure it'll pack enough flavour for a fight.

Those dining for lunch at Jumak can take advantage of the seasonal assorted Korean pancakes, choices of soup, Bibimbap and stews with your choice of pork made your way. Kids are also catered for – with chicken, pork, or beef katsu on offer served with rice and salad and a portion of Korean pickles.
