Standing tall in Christchurch for 20 years, this eatery has a solid legacy which has people coming back time and again.
Opened in1999 and was shut by the earthquake in 2011. Reopened again 2014, and bigger and better.
Using the freshest ingredients sourced from local suppliers, their sushi and sashimi is melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Enjoy the best of east meets west sushi with their spicy sashimi tempura roll and some classic NZ's favourite chicken teriyaki roll. Featured also the only teppanyaki sushi, the Lava Roll, with crab salad sushi wrapped with thinly sliced raw fish, grilled, flambe and blowtorched on the teppan grill and finish off with Japanese mayo and sweet sticky soya sauce and top with Japanese caviar. One-of-a-kind sushi that only can be sampled at @Tony's. The widely adored Tatsutage (deep fried marinated chicken) also features as well as something called a ‘spider roll’ which is only for the brave.
They serve much more than sushi. Try their most popular teppanyaki mains, the @Tony's Combo, which featured a combination of seafood, chicken, beef, vegetables from the teppanyaki and served with rice and miso soup. There’s plenty to choose, from gyoza, edamame to pork belly and even ostrich is on the menu- and whilst you’re there, you might as well get a bottle of Sake in to perfectly match all the dishes or try their in-house constructed cocktail, mango sake bellini or their mighty Yakuza cocktail made with absinthe, chartreuse, egg white and shoju.
What better to finish with their homemade, Green Tea ice cream and for the adventurous, try their Wasabi Cheesecake.
They are the busiest teppanyaki restaurant in Christchurch, so get your first table booking in now.
