Located in the heart of Taradale, Rosie O'Grady's Irish Pub has opened its doors and is pouring pints and serving up delicious plates of hearty fare. Whether you are craving a classic burger, a classic New Zealand-style fish and chips or a hearty pizza, it is all available at Rosie O'Grady's.

All dishes are expertly prepared by the dedicated crew led by Stef and Lara, who originally met at the original Rosie's in the '90s, sparking their love for Irish pubs. After rekindling their passion for Irish pubs in 2019, they opened the first Rosie's in Taradale in April 2021. Hastings soon followed in August before Napier joined the pack in December. Despite the challenge of opening up three venues amidst a global pandemic, Stef, Lara and their crack team opened the doors with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Each venue has a unique history and layout which Stef and Lara have lovingly transformed and given the "Rosie" touch.

The origins of this restaurant in Hawke’s Bay started when Stef and Lara met at the original Rosie's in the '90s. It was there that they rediscovered their love for Irish pubs and each other. Fast forward to 2020, after years of both managing pubs, including London Irish Pubs, starting families and building careers, they decided to make the dream of Rosie's in the Bay, opening Rosie O’Grady’s in Taradale in April 2021, Hastings followed in August, and Napier joined in December despite several delays due to a crazy 2020. Despite lockdowns and challenges, opening Rosie O’Grady’s was worth it because it embodies their heart and soul, a Kiwi twist on the Irish classic. The Rosie O’Grady’s family toast to their journey, the laughs, the challenges and the good times ahead.

Step through Rosie O'Grady's doors and it immediately feels like you are in a true blue Irish pub. Traditional touches like a crackling fire, wood-panelled walls, heavy carpentry and gold accents add a sense of warmth and comfort to the whole place. Sink into a booth with your group and settle in for a cracker time at Rosie O'Grady's for either lunch or dinner.
