Overview
Located on park-like grounds on the edge of the legendary Tongariro River, this beautiful venue was established in 1982 by legendary angler and guide Tony Hayes.
It’s well-known for its excellent accommodation, quality outdoor activities and the most experienced fly-fishing guides in New Zealand. All those outdoor pursuits work up an appetite, so the lodge also offers a delicious menu created by highly experienced chefs.
In-house and visiting guests alike can enjoy a meal in one of the rustic dining rooms, complete with an open fire. The menu offers fine New Zealand cuisine like lavender marinated lamb rump with grilled vegetables, venison rack served over watercress puree and a vegan roasted stuffed capsicum. Not forgetting the angler’s favourite – fish of the day, served with quinoa and roasted butternut.
It’s ideal for a getaway on the edges of one of New Zealand’s most beautiful national parks.
