Introducing the new cooking method that grills, bakes, and steams local produce in French oak pinot noir barrel cookers, otherwise known as stoakers. This barrel cuisine is what makes The Stoaker Room so special, giving prime cuts a whole new smoky depth of flavor. The restaurant itself is suitably rustic, offering diners the chance to sit at barrel tables while soaking in the Otago sunshine. It's informal, comfy, and communal—exactly what you need after a day at the lake or in the hills.
Prepare to eat like a king! With feasts and banquets designed for groups, this is your chance to see what the stoaker has been rustling up and gorge on perfectly smoked venison, pork belly, lamb rump, ribeye, and Akaroa salmon, all served with grilled veggies, salads, and sauces on the side. You can also design your meal around a particular meat, whether it's teriyaki chicken thigh or wagyu beef rump, and add on the sides that take your fancy.
