Never was there a more apt name for a bright, modern gastro-pub in New Zealand's funky capital – Duke of Wellington.
Located in perhaps the most brutal wind tunnel known to man, The Duke of Wellington is a stone's throw away from the train station. Take a break from those furious winds and shelter in this ultra-modern take on a British classic.
Seeing as the Duke himself loved a hearty plate of grub (probably), this establishment serves the best pub-grub in the CBD. Get stuck into their confit pork belly, slow-braised beef cheek, fish and chips and the ultimate pub champion, bangers and mash. Think of it as safeguarding against getting blown away.
And with a constantly rotating menu of local beers, you'll have to pop in and see what they have at the time. It's true what they say, the best things in life are unexpected...so just imagine an unexpected beer!
