Serving delicious Chinese eats, New Fortuna is spreading good fortune in the middle of Petone.

Escape the helter-skelter of the busy capital at this secluded spot. Soft lighting and dark furniture work together to create a relaxed, calming atmosphere. It’s far some subdued, however, with playful Chinese lanterns and adornments hanging from the ceiling and adding pops of colour.

Dim Sum sounds like the perfect way to kick off an evening, as does the deep-fried squid and spring rolls. Then get stuck in with their meat and seafood dishes. There’s Cantonese and orange roast duck as well as a dramatic sizzling beef and other delights in the chicken, lamb and pork section. Look out for the satay dishes; they’re always a crowd-pleaser!

Vegetarians can revel in their tofu-themed offerings, like the tofu hot pot with seasonal vegetables or vegetables in a punchy ginger sauce. And there's a plethora of different rices and noodles to choose from, like yung chow fried rice or shanghai fried noodles.
