Peacocks might only be found flaunting their stuff in a few countries, but The Thirsty Peacock is taking diners on an international tour from England's Yorkshire moors to serene Japan and a few places in between!
A spacious and modern restaurant in the Christchurch Art Gallery, this eatery is going upmarket with a divine fine-dining menu & crisp table clothes. Stretch out, wine and recline. Speaking of which, any thirsty peacocks out there are called to visit their immense bar, complete with some of NZ's finest wines and crafties.
The starters kick off the global tour nicely. Perhaps Bombay fried chicken, TTP slaw, coriander and mint chutney... or lemon pepper squid, Asian slaw with lemon.
Onto the second leg of our trip and there's teriyaki pork belly served with duck fat potato, mushy peas & Swedish gravy. Vege's will love the Pea Rissotto.
Even the desserts are taking us to the Parisian streets for crème brûlée and rainy England for an apple crumble tart. Seriously, who needs a plane ticket when you have The Thirsty Peacock?
