Eruption Brewing

Eruption is a small, locally owned brewery in the heart of historic Lyttelton making authentically handcrafted beers using only the best New Zealand South Island ingredients.

The newly restored building on London Street was formerly the BNZ Bank, destroyed in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. The original bank safe is now the beer chiller!

Get among the tanks in the ground floor Tap Room with log fire. Lounge out with all day dining on the mezzanine. Sit out on the top deck for panoramic views of the harbour and hills, or watch the world go by from the first-floor balcony overlooking London Street ..you are spoilt for choice.

The all-day menu includes plenty of small plates and sharing options as well as pizzas, gourmet burgers, vegetarian options and curry made with locally sourced ingredients. Our breakfast menu is available Satruday and Sunday mornings, come over Saturday morning and be centre stage to watch the hustle and bustle of the Lyttelton Farmer's Market. Our popular Sunday Sessions live music from 3pm is a great way to dine and complete your weekend.

When it comes to craft beers, you are naturally in the right place. Eruption began in a Lyttelton garage in 2012 and you can taste their passion and expertise in every drop. Taste the beer range with tasting trays or grab a growler from their fillery to take home.
