The Speight's Ale House

Speight’s has been a regular presence on Stanley Street in Queenstown since 2002, occupying an historic building from the 1800's. After being temporarily closed due to fire damage since March 2023, we're thrilled to announce that Speight's Ale House has officially reopened. Complete with a a full make over the team are ready to welcome you back.

The Speight’s brewery has been producing award-winning ales and beers, using only the finest quality Southern ingredients since 1876 and there are so many options to choose from. Traditionalists should opt for the Speight’s gold medal ale, while those looking for something a little different should try the porter, a red-black pour with distinctive coffee notes.

The menu has been designed to offer hearty, value for money servings of Kiwi style pub food. All locally sourced to give you a true South Island experience, all meals expertly matched to one of their superb tap ales! Well known amongst locals for providing the very best in locally sourced lamb, beef and fresh market fish.
