The Homestead Restaurant

When it comes to The Homestead Restaurant, the clue is in the name. Heralding everything that makes Southland so unique, this cosy eatery is doing away with pretences and serving hearty meals exactly as we like them.

An open and friendly dining room awaits, along with a superb children’s play area that makes this one of Invercargill’s favourite family destinations. Press the button to send the model train off around the top of the restaurant, play on the indoor playground or grab a controller to battle it out on the gaming consoles. Or to celebrate those extra special occasions, enquire about their function space, which is just off the restaurant, opening to a shared courtyard space.

Every dish is packed with flavour and caters for all tastes. Choose from crispy buttermilk chicken and homemade chips, bangers & mash positively drenched in meaty gravy and onion jam, and pork belly with roast potatoes and pumpkin. Is a NZ menu complete without a crispy pork belly? We don't think so either.

The menu also features Italian favourites, serving up oozing chicken parmigiana with a cheeky side of manuka smoked bacon and a delightful chicken penne that can be customised to a vegetarian diet. Don't forget to check out their burgers and sandwiches either; these bad boys leave little to be desired.
