Iguana Street Bar & Restaurant

A front-runner in Hamilton's growing dining scene, Iguana has been standing tall for over 20 years and remains a favourite with visitors and locals alike.

The restaurant is in a great location and has some interesting local history. They celebrate their history by preserving the original timber floors and some of the antique features, giving it a rustic and cosy feel. It's ideal for families, groups of friends, or a conversation with an old friend.

Warm up the palate with some of your favourite comfort foods. Their bao buns can be loaded with everything from teriyaki pulled pork to spicy chicken and crispy halloumi while your dining companion can enjoy fried chicken wings slathered in housemade sweet chilli BBQ sauce, topped with aioli, coriander, and lemon. And that's before we get to the classic green-lip mussels and succulent Malabar king prawns!

For mains, only the finest meat will do! Chow down on some hefty plates like their crisp pork belly, New Zealand lamb shank and pan-seared salmon that comes complete with lemon and herb crushed potatoes, topped with crispy prawn crackers. It's a seafood party! Or should we say iguana party...?
