Whizzing around New Zealand with the promise of funky, fresh Mexican feasts, The Flying Burrito Brothers are the nation's favourite culinary angels.
With restaurants in the North and South Islands, the bros are jazzing up the dining scene with their signature indoor/outdoor spaces, colourful Mexican artwork and some of the best cocktails in town. And they're certainly keeping the capital on its toes with a lively establishment on Cuba Street. A playful mixing pot of colour, texture and prints, this particular branch immerses you in all the joy and vibrancy of the Mexican spirit. Large groups can have their fun adjacent the bar whilst those who wish for more privacy can retreat to a mellow yellow cubby hole lit by soft paper lanterns. There's something for everyone here!
Now, allow us to introduce you to Antonio, Terry and Muz, the bros and tastebuds behind the wicked menu. They're hitting the Mexican street stalls for tacos filled with anything from braised pulled pork to habanero spiced fried chicken, battered mushrooms and guajillo spiced fish. They're also keeping things wrapped up with some sizzling fajitas (served with plenty of theatre) and filled with chipotle chicken, spiced beef and spicy veggies.
Next, hold on to your sombreros for mains. Here, the stuffed burrito comes into play, as well as handy quesadillas, enchiladas and chimichangas that encase three of the bros' favourite fillings. And it ain't a fiesta until you end your meal with a dessert cocktail or a round of tequilas. One of these will surely put the wind behind your wings!
