A one-of-a-kind in more ways than one, The Welsh Dragon Bar prides itself in being the only Welsh pub in the Southern Hemisphere. No pressure then!

It might be as far away from Wales as is geographically possible, but The Welsh Dragon still manages to perfectly encapsulate the Welsh spirit. Located in the heart of Wellington on Cambridge Terrace, it takes you straight back to the bonny green landscapes of Cymru with a wood-heavy interior, a traditional oak bar and plenty of fiery paintings of the dragon itself. With a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, The Welsh Dragon is the perfect place to spend an evening.

If you haven't experienced it yet, Welsh hospitality is something to be enjoyed. And with good reason! With a wealth of homemade platiau bach (small plates) and prief brydau (main meals), there's something for every occasion.

The Dragons' menu changes seasonally; you can expect to find twists on pub classics and traditional Welsh dishes. The Welsh Dragon aims to source locally, combining New Zealand's premier ingredients with some home secrets to provide you a celebration of two small nations on a plate.
