Proper Pizza - Whangaparaoa

Where in the world does one find a pizza house that satisfies the thin and thick-crusters? And what about the fussy eaters? Proper Pizza has the perfect circle for every pizza-lover out there.

While travelling Europe, owner Stuart Deeks stumbled across a very unexpected pizza haven in Albania and Kosovo. Doughs are light and crispy with a moreish sesame crust and neither is it oily or stodgy. Add to that a huge range of scrummy toppings and you have yourself a pizza joint that is an absolute winner, hands down!

As well as the classic toppings, there is a range of gourmet pizzas that you won't find anywhere else. The Mediterranean seafood unites juicy shrimps with mushrooms, chilli sauce and caramelised onions. For a slice of true decadence, the black truffle is laden with mushrooms, pecorino, black truffle and topped off with a rich white sauce.

And just when you thought pizzas were a savoury affair, they land you with an apple crumble pizza with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream! Prepare to have your pizza horizons well and truly broadened– there's a whole world out there undiscovered.
