Crave is not your usual eatery. It’s a social enterprise and neighbourhood cafe and restaurant run by a collective of locals with a strong sense of whanaungatanga and kinship.

Designed to bring the community together and make Morningside a better place to live and work, Crave has grown over 8 years from a 20-seater ‘cosy’ coffee shop to a large, thriving cafe by day, restaurant by night. All of Crave's profit goes back into the neighbourhood - this team are catalysts of social good who actually walk the talk.

And there’s none of the usual compromise on quality that can come with not-for-profit establishments. By day, Crave is bursting with locals enjoying superb brunch and lunch options, all excellently presented and typically accompanied by a perfect pour of Supreme coffee. At night, flavoursome sharing plates are the mainstay of the menu – from their popular, fall-apart beef cheek to their mouth-watering roast lamb shoulder, from tidbits to night bites all designed for sharing, the kitchen have perfected the balance of filling mains with delectable accompaniments. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diners are all catered for.

The drinks menu is equally impressive. A wine list crafted by NZ’s only Master Sommelier shows Crave take their food and wine seriously. Along with tempting house-brewed ‘Morningcider', an impressive range of craft beer and non-alcoholic options made fresh on site, you will be spoilt for choice.
