With a focus on value for money (read: strong) cocktails and an unpretentious food menu to help with the imbibing, Bareno answers the question no one was asking: “What if a bar did not think it was better than its customers?”. Perfect for a quick beer after work, a longer session before a big night out, or (with two exits to escape through if they are boring you senseless) a place to take a first date - Bareno is an absolute Christchurch treasure.

As you can probably tell, Bareno does not take itself too seriously, because life is already too complicated. That said, they are focused squarely on delivering copious handmade cocktails and playing a music selection that has been described as “nostalgic and eclectically awesome”.
