El Camino Cantina

Calling all those who live for the fire, vitality and 'anything goes' spirit of Tex Mex will love El Camino Cantina. This is where wild and colourful nights begin.

Such descriptive words can be applied to the restaurant itself, making it a jolly location to while away an evening. Part canteen, part communal dining hall and part tiki shack, El Camino is a dazzling array of loud neon signs, multicoloured LEDs and equally colourful dining options. Depending on what you have in mind for the evening, get the crew around a long table, huddle around a bistro table or grab a window seat and enjoy supper atop a bar stool. Just don't forget to visit the margarita stand!

First, however, we have to address the food itself. Informal street food takes centre stage with a lively menu filled to the rafters with loaded nachos, sizzling fajitas and crispy tacos. The nachos make for a brilliant starter and can be enjoyed with anything from slow-cooked BBQ pulled pork, ground beef mince, black beans and lashings of guac and sour cream.

Mains go for our favourite handhelds. With the tacos, fajitas and burritos, the fillings include BBQ beef brisket, grilled chicken, popcorn prawn, paprika cauliflower and confit mushrooms. Sounds like a mouthful, right? And if you want a bit of a kick alongside, all you have to do is up the heat level to your liking! Oh, and don't forget a portion of El Camino's legendary chicken wings on the side. They go down mighty well with a signature margarita!
