She's not one for pretences or fancy facades; at Mama's, what you see is what you get and homey landscapes rule the roost here. Comfy horseshoe booths are primed for uncontained laughter between loved ones whist the main hall is a cacophony of banter and the happy chaos of families meeting up for a yarn.

True to form, the menu is sizzling hot with quality Kiwi cuts straight off the grill. Meat lovers unite for the Kiwi scotch sizzler, the lamb rack sizzler that's sourced from the Wairarapa, and the seafood sensation sizzler that sees fresh marinated seafood tossed onto the grill and served with coconutty sides. Vegetarians are also not immune to some sizzling action with the soya chaap sizzler that makes for a gorgeous meat-free alternative.

Other than that, Mama can't resist putting her own spin on the classic beef or sticky bbq chicken burger. She's even turning her hand to Italian and Indian mains with the likes of chicken saagwala, palak paneer, pumpkin gnocchi and beetroot arancini. Seriously, is there anything this mama can't do?!
