No, it's not another name for Panama. Paname is actually the nickname that Parisians have given to their favourite city in the world.
The capital, with all its promises of love and adventure, is the core inspiration for this social hub in Auckland's CBD.
And they've captured that Parisian chic so effortlessly that Paname certainly wouldn't be out of place around the corner from the Arc de Triomphe or the Eiffel Tower. Glossy and seductive, its floor-to-ceiling windows offer a glimpse into a lavish yet approachable world that is modern and traditional at the same time. High ceilings offer Paname an innate grandeur whilst the ultra contemporary lighting, modern take on bistro seating and the oceans of space bring the French bistro very much into the 21st century.
On the menu are, of course, treasures of the Parisian kitchen. The kitchen is rustling up plenty of traditional plates that have been modernised for that extra bit of sparkle. From traditional beef tartare with crostini to the charcuterie platter with deli delights and an unbelievable duck liver crème brulee, they waste no time in showing off their gastronomic expertise.
As for bigger plates, only the finest ingredients will do. We're talking mac n' cheese with the decadent addition of lobster tail, the daily butcher's cut with a stunning red wine jus and roasted beetroot with poached pear and candied walnuts. As for the thirst quenchers, the finest French and NZ crushed grapes enter the fold, making for a covetable wine cellar that hits all the right notes.
Ah Paname, nous t'aimons.
